YOUNG PEOPLE 16+

_____________________________________

I have spent many years working with teenagers and young people across a range of settings.

I worked within the National Health Service as part of a CAMHS team, supporting young people aged 12 to 24 with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, relational difficulties, emotional dysregulation, and the impact of trauma.

Alongside my NHS work, I spent over twenty years in a sixth-form college, supporting A-level students as they navigated academic pressure, social expectations, relationships, and the many challenges of adolescence.

Young people today are growing up in a world where social media, constant comparison, academic expectations, uncertainty about the future, and pressure to perform or appear a certain way can feel relentless. It is perhaps unsurprising that many experience anxiety, emotional overwhelm, disconnection, or struggle to understand who they are beneath these demands.

Therapy offers a space to slow things down and make sense of what is happening. Together, we explore the experiences, relationships, and adaptations that may be contributing to their difficulties, helping them better understand their emotional world, develop a stronger sense of self, and find new ways of navigating the challenges of adolescence and early adulthood.
