ABOUT ME

My original training was humanistic, grounded in existential and person-centred psychotherapy, going on to complete a postgraduate diploma in trauma therapy, which deepened my interest in the nervous system and in how our bodily experience shapes how we feel and relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us.

This led me to further training in embodied and somatic approaches with Peter Levine, the founder of Somatic Experiencing. Alongside this, I have completed yoga teacher training and a breathwork facilitator course. While I do not teach yoga within therapy, this learning informs my understanding of embodiment, nervous system regulation, and our capacity to influence our internal states.

I have also undertaken specialist training in addiction with Carolyn Cowan, which supports my work with addictive patterns through a trauma-informed lens, and completed Nick Duffell’s specialist postgraduate diploma in Boarding School Syndrome.

Having spent five years working within an NHS CAMHS team and more than 20 years working within a sixth-form college supporting A-level students, I have a wealth of experience working with adolescents and young adults.
